Professional Wine Opener
WEEKNIGHT SUPPER PIE
1/4 cup onion, minced
1 Tbsp butter
1 lb. ground beef
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 tsp basil
1 can tomato soup
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder
Pie pastry for a 2 crust pie
Saute onions in butter until soft and translucent. Add ground beef, minced garlic and basil; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Turn up to medium high heat and brown (do not allow garlic to burn).
Add tomato soup, reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes. Allow to cool.
Preheat oven to 375F degrees.
Line a 9 inch pie dish with pastry rolled 1/8 inch thick (or use store bought).
Moisten edges of crust with cold water. Fill pie shell with meat mixture. Prick top crust and place over pie, brush with melted butter and bake in a preheated 375F oven for 1 hour or if you’re in a hurry, bake at 450F for 15 minutes, then decrease heat to 350 and bake 15 minutes more.
Variations: Use Bisquick, following package directions, instead of pie crust. Can also top pie with mashed potatoes, and use a Bisquick crust for the bottom only.
ASIAN BEEF & NOODLES
1-1/4 pounds ground beef
2 packages (3 ounces each) Oriental-flavored ramen noodles, separated
2 cups frozen oriental vegetable mixture
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground ginger
3 tablespoons green onion, cut in 1″ pieces
1 medium onion, chopped
1 tablespoon garlic, minced
1 teaspoon soy sauce
In skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes. Add garlic and onions after beef has been browning 5 minutes. Remove beef with slotted spoon; season with seasoning packet from noodles.
Place noodles in skillet. Add vegetable mixture, 2 cups water or beef broth, soy sauce, ginger and seasoning packet. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer several minutes or until noodles are done.
Add beef to skillet once more, cook 1-2 additional minutes.
American Chop Suey Variation: Instead of ramen noodles and flavoring packet, substitute leftover or pre-cooked pasta and one beef bouillon cube. Omit ginger and soy sauce. Add one 8-12 oz can diced tomatoes, tomato soup, or tomato sauce to skillet after beef has browned; continue as above. Serve wth microwave-melted cheese, or sprinkle with grated parmesan.

Can’t beat beef and rice! Just saute onion and garlic with olive oil…add beef and brown; add 1 c rice and toast a minute. Add 2 cups water with some taco seasoning (or what you like to flavor your taco meat with), and stir. Cover, reduce heat and let cook until all liquid is absorbed. At last minute add cheese and chopped olives. I like to serve these with refried beans all wrapped in warm tortillas!

One of my husband’s favorite dishes is Tamale Pie.
Brown 1 lb. ground beef and 1/2C. chopped onion, drain grease, add one can chili beans or pinto beans, one can enchilada sauce, one can drained whole kernel corn, pour into casserole dish, top with one package of Jiffy corn muffin mix (mixed according to directions) and bake about 45 mins in a 375 oven.
He loves this so much, he can eat the whole recipe in a day or two.

You have all the ingredients to make a quick meal. Just use what you like.
Brown you ground beef with a chopped onion and minced garlic. If you have zucchini slice and add to mixture. Drain.
Meanwhile, peel your tomatoes and cut them into small pieces and add them and the juice to the ground beef mixture. Add your chopped olives.
Now add a cup of macaroni or other small pasta. If you like tomato flavor add enough tomato sauce to cover the pasta. If not add water. Add your seasons, whatever you like (salt, pepper, chili powder, anything you enjoy).
Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes or until the pasta is done.
Serve with some shredded cheese, Parmesan, mozzarella, etc
You can make this with most any veggies you have in your refrig.
Enjoy
