My friend gave this top low fat chicken recipe and recommended me cooking it. This dish is amazing! Not too spicy, not too bland, just right and perfectly complemented by the bread and cooling yoghurt. I’m sure you will definitely be serving this dish again.

Ingredients of low fat chicken recipe #1 (serves 4):

500g chicken fillet, cut into 2cm dice

3 tbs (1/4 cup) flour, seasoned with salt and pepper

1/4 cup (60ml) olive oil

2 onions, sliced

2 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp ground cloves

2 tsp sumac

3 tbs (1/4 cup) sultanas

1 cup (250ml) chicken stock

50g toasted pine nuts*

3 tbs (1/4 cup) chopped fresh coriander

Juice of 1 lemon, plus wedges to serve

Couscous, Greek yoghurt and Lebanese bread, to serve

Methods of low fat chicken recipe #1:

Toss chicken in the flour. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a large fry pan over high heat until hot, then cook chicken in batches until golden and set aside.

Heat remaining oil in pan. Add onions, reduce heat to medium and cook for 10 minutes, stirring, until golden and softened. Return chicken to pan with spices, sultanas and stock. Reduce heat to low and cook for 5 minutes until heated through and thickened slightly. Stir in pine nuts, coriander and lemon juice. Serve with couscous, yoghurt, bread and lemon.

Notes:

Sumac is a purple, lemony spice used in North African and Middle Eastern cooking. From spice stores and selected delis. Ready-toasted pine nuts are available from supermarkets. There is one more low fat chicken recipe that is really tasty. Do try to cook it!

Ingredients of low fat chicken recipe #2 (serves 4):

2 zucchinis, cut into wedges

2 red onions, cut into wedges

3 tomatoes, cut into wedges

1/4 cup pitted black olives

1/4 cup (60ml) olive oil

4 x 180g thick skinless white fish fillets (such as ling)

1 small garlic clove, crushed

1 tbs lemon juice

1 tbs Dijon mustard

1/2 cup roughly chopped flat-leaf parsley

Methods of low fat chicken recipe #2:

Preheat the oven to 200°C.

Toss the zucchini, onion, tomato and olives with 1 tablespoon of the oil in a baking dish.

Brush another tablespoon of oil over the fish and place on the vegetables. Place in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until cooked through.

Whisk together the garlic, lemon juice, mustard and remaining oil to make a dressing.

Divide the cooked vegetables among plates and top each with a piece of fish.

Drizzle the fish with the dressing and scatter with chopped parsley.

Microwave Bacon Cooking Equipment – Better Than Cooking Over A Spit!

These days you will find that there a number of cooking utensils when it comes to cooking bacon. But not all can turn out great bacons. The microwave oven is the equipment which can be used for cooking bacon. Bacon can be cooked over the stove in a fry pan so that all the juices and fat that it contains helps to cook the meat by itself. Cooking this way over the stove slowly makes the bacon sizzle and gurgle while it cooks. Using the microwave oven to cook helps to cut out all that extra fat required for its cooking and turns out crispy ones. This is why microwave cooking of bacon is preferred by many.

Those people who prefer their bacon to be greasy can use the pan for cooking it. But those who are more health conscious would certainly prefer to have their bacon cooked using the microwave. There are also other ways in which you can have your bacon cooked using other types of cooking utensils which are now available in the market.

The different types of bacon cookers which are readily available in the market come in various shapes, sizes, designs and even prices. Try to get a bacon cooker that allows you to cook your bacon without causing any mess while it cooks in the microwave. These bacon cookers come in a variety of prices and it is up to each individual cook to choose one which fits their budget.

Bacon cookers can be used for a variety of cooking needs other than defrosting and warming. Bacon cookers like the presto brand helps to keep the flavor of the bacon intact while it helps to drain off the excess oil. We are all aware that oil is unhealthy and is not to be consumed and that’s why it is important that all the oil is drained out of the bacon before it is eaten during breakfast.

Another type of bacon cooking equipment, which is highly convenient helps to keep the bacon from rolling up preventing it from sticking together. Here the bacon is made to stand up instead of lying flat down which prevents it from rolling over the other pieces. The equipment is specially designed that it secures both the ends of the bacon piece and keeps the middle portion stretched making it ideal for the bacon to be cooked well. This way the cooked bacon presents a neat appearance when it is placed on the breakfast plate on the table in the morning. This is how restaurants cook their bacon.

Bacon is an important dish which is served at most breakfast tables and using bacon cooking equipment helps anyone to serve well cooked bacon for breakfast.

We are told to be careful of plastics, and some glazed mugs and dinnerware. I try to use paper plates, paper towels, (without dye), or microwave safe cooking dishes.
I agree that the microwaves cooking the food concern me. I’ve been doing like many people, and using a microwave for years. Mostly to heat in, but still….

I live in the dorms at my college and think I am falling victim to the “Freshman 15.” I have absolutely no access to a microwave or other cooking appliances. I just have a small fridge. I want to lose access weight and eat alot healthier. All I have been doing is eating out (which is also using lots of my money). How do I go about losing weight and getting healthier as well as save my money?
